Last Saturday, B decided that we should go for a relaxing brunch and suggested The Fabulous Baker Boy. I had heard about the place and seen so many pictures and reviews about the place and really psych that it is finally my turn to check out the place. Wee~

This is the happy us on the way to the cafe. We were the very first customer! Hahah. Kiasu us but it wasn't really early. We reached about 10am and after we settled down, there were a few other couples strolling in. The boss was really nice and friendly. I suggest that you make a booking first before heading down. It is actually located behind Liang Court and within walking distance from both Dhoby Gaunt Station and Clarke Quay Station.

The table had this really pretty yellow flowers so I decided to camwhore together with Rufus, my stuff beanie that I gotten from a flea at just 3bucks! As you can read from the sign that was on our table, the menu is inside the cafe besides the cashier. So we had to order inside, made payment then return to our seats and wait excitedly for our food! It was outdoor seating though there are some seats inside but the space is really small inside.

This is the interior. It was the Easter weekends so they drew a really happy greeting on the black board. I am really loving the decor of the cafe. It has a vintage rustic feel that I can imagine my future house to be.

I ordered Towkay Ng's Egg Benedict and added Roast Beef Bacon together with a cup of Latte. I though the portion of just the Egg benny set was a tad too small so I was thankful I added the Roast Beef Bacon. The eggs were on toast instead of English Muffins but I think the taste were good. The Roast Beef Bacon and potatoes were really flavorful and was a right balance with the Egg Benny. <3

B decided to have the Cottage pie and Cappuccino. The Pie came with a side of salad with vinaigrette sauce. B didn't like the taste of salad as it was too sour for him but I thought was alright. The pie was good when the dish was hot, but it tasted quite bleah when it turned cold. So a dish to be eaten quick!

This is the happy us with our food! There was actually ice cold water served in a glass bottle too. It was really considerate of them to give each table a bottle of ice water because the weather was hot. And it also saved the servers the hassle of constantly refilling our glasses too.

We had a slice of the highly raved Chocolate Coated Red Velvet Cake. I was a tad disappointed as the cream cheese taste wasn't that strong. It is just a personal preference but I prefer  my Red Velvet to have a stronger cream cheese as it will balance the sweetness of the cake. For people who love their cakes to be sweeter, this should be a good option.

Overall, I really like the cafe. It is accessible and within walking distance from two MRT stations. It is near Fort Canning Park so it didn't really feel that we were in town. The heat was a downer though. If you really dislike the heat, then perhaps you can request for the seats inside. I would recommend the Egg Benny together with an additional side. Besides Beef Bacon there were many other sides to choose from such as Chipolatas and Mushrooms.

Do visit this cafe and I hope you will have an awesome experience like me! Cheers!
